     'There is little bit of SAILin everybody's life'.      Yes , in my life too.I had spent almost 4.5 years in SAIL.I joined SAIL in 1993 July and left the organization in Dec'1997. My induction was at Bhilai and was posted to Durgapur Steel plant. After 3 months of initial training at Durgapur I was posted to Heavy maintenance(it was my choice).I got 14 rank after three months of assessments. The rank was extremely importnat for your choice of department. My final ranking (after one year in Mechanical stream was 7).Heavy maintenance does the centralized mechanical maintenance in the steel plant and everyday we used to visit one different department for mechanical maintenance.I was also part of computer managed maintenance system for my department. I was also a council memer and asst.secretary for welfare and grievances of officer's association for a two year term.I was married here and my marriage reception was also held in Durgapur.I worked in Junior Manager and Asst Manager capacities here. My department was also the winner of 'Tug OF War' competition during our Annual event(I was captain for one year).

      'Powered by intellect and Driven by Values'.  I strongly believe in Infosys senior Management and their vision,their values. I worked here for 10 years and worked in various capacities. Developer, Module leader , Project leader, Architect, Project manager, Program Manger, Consultant(for Information Security).

I was happy to be certified here for PMP, CISSP, 6sigma green belt, IFPUG(Esteem), Competent Toast master and Leader.

Nordstrom

   My first Project in Infosys.I was working under Bala(the dangerous projet leader of Chennai).I was the only person survived working for him for almost 1.5 years.I was really patient enough to take all the frustrations as I was from a Govt Job and not sure how to react in Private Organizations.I worked for two projects here.Both for Merchandizing system only.I had learnt lot of stuff here under tremendous pressure.Though, I really dont want to recall my days during that time, memories are always sweet(whether good or bad).

ConAgra

 

    My first Project as Project leader CONGL and My first Onsite Project (PEAMAINT) and I had spent 32 months of excellent time.This phase helped me to grow personally and professionally.First time I learned how an excellent work culture can be. I still remember  Bahn, Jim Schultz, Jim Schulte, Lisa, Bill vala,Bernie baker .Very peaceful and conservative city OMAHA.They say 'if you ask somebody directions in Omaha , they not only tell you the directions but make sure that you are on right direction.

  It was very difficult to relocate from Omaha ,but the project was over and had to relocate to India. I was not sure that there was an excellent opportunity waiting for me in Phoenix. I consider Phoenix to be my second home. I stayed there for almost 4.5 years.I worked in various departments, Global network and establishment services, Chief Information Security Office.

Wachovia

   As soon as I relocated to India after 7 plus years at USA, I was posted to Hyderabad .I was handling projects related to Wachovia Retirement Services. I was given most of the freshers but we were able to manage the expectations and delivery. We had one excellent Onsite co-ordinator 'Sourav Mukherjee' and he used to manage the  technical stuff efficiently.He was the Pillar of that Project.We had very many best practices during this time , SoftSkills, Domain Trainings, KT sessions, Brainstorm sessions for Defects,Monthly feedback sessions ,ToastMaster sessions and Parties for all personal reasons.I really enjoyed workin with this team where I was personally responsible for most of the things.

AdMinServer/Oracle

 

   I moved out of Infosys to join small companies as I was working with Big companies for almost 15 years, I joined this company as Delivery head. We had very good technical people but process was terrible. People were statying till midnights, lot of customer complaints,no definied hierarchy. Fortunately we were able to train our employees and making them stand on their own .This took many communication sessions, trainings and attitude change among all my employees. in 2008, Oracle had purchased the AdminServer Insurance product.I was certified here for LOMA Level 1 and SEI CMM Appraisal Team Member(ATM).
